What I really care about is seeing women hold equal power in business and society. I believe we can get there faster by supporting each other and my favourite motto is to ‘be that woman that will mention another woman’s name in a room full of opportunities.’ I want women to make themselves more visible in order to be role models for the younger generations, because I truly believe that ‘if you can see it, you can be it’. I am a big thinker, an optimist, a giver, a creative thinker, a super connector (I can’t help it!), a long term entrepreneur, a speaker, MC and coach and I love problem solving! I believe in connecting and supporting as many women as I can, particularly those over 40, as that’s when we are just hitting our stride and yet we suddenly become kinda ‘invisible’ in business and in the media. I am the founder of a membership group called She’s The Boss for successful female founders and women doing extraordinary things in business, and we run online and in-person lunches and events with entrepreneurial women from all across Australia. I host a few podcasts including She’s The Boss Chats and She’s The Boss Leaders, where I interview some incredibly interesting and diverse female founders. I also host one for my local council called How The West Is #1, where I interview local small business owners. Putting on my ‘other hat’, I founded a business called Handle Your Own PR in 2009 where I have spent more than a decade teaching small business owners, experts and entrepreneurs how to get free publicity for their business. I speak about PR a lot on stage, I and offer engaging, practical advice that can be implemented. I built a PR SaaS platform in 2017 as part of Handle Your Own PR. It offers an easy, affordable solution where people can create their own media contact list, write their media release and send it off to specific journalists of their choice, all within the one app. I am also a speaker and MC on topics around women, I have a corporate program called Say My Name that encourages women to learn from other women and get to know and trust each other so they can support each other’s careers.
